Bring both resources to the Hall of Lineage
Valor and gold are the spending resources for ranks. Visit the Hall of Lineage and use the price shown for the rank you are buying. Avoid treating a guessed fixed price as a reliable budget: the important number for the next purchase is the one displayed for that upgrade.
Separate a Lineage purchase from leveling the current hero. The rank improves the bloodline and survives permanent hero death. That persistence is the reason to consider it alongside a new piece of gear rather than viewing both as interchangeable upgrades.

Earn Valor by finishing the Torment loop
Torment is the Valor source. Battle wins add smaller amounts, and the third boss's chest provides most of the run's Valor. The first daily chest grants 1.5× Valor, making a reliable completed run a useful starting priority.
If you are repeatedly ending before the chest, improve the part of the hero that prevents the clear. More reliable earning can be more useful than attempting to save for a permanent upgrade while the reward loop remains unfinished.
Balance permanence with the next attempt
A Lineage rank gives an approximately 4.66% increase to HP, Attack, Magic and Defense everywhere. The benefit lasts beyond the current hero, while an immediate equipment or recovery purchase may be what makes the next clear possible.
Choose based on that concrete need. If the hero can clear comfortably, a permanent rank is an attractive way to turn rewards into lasting strength. If the hero is missing a basic survival tool, solve that bottleneck so future rank purchases have a dependable income source.
Continue after a hero is lost
Permanent death does not erase Lineage ranks. A later hero can benefit from the bloodline investment, so the Hall is part of your longer progression plan. Preserve the distinction between the rank you own and the individual build you are currently developing.
